Welcome to 2005

So, I have recently graduated from a dial-up home internet connection to wireless. Which is great ... when it works. Unfortunately, I don't have the option of switching to a regular tethered internet cable modem connection, since my computer doesn't seem to know what to do (I guess this is what happens when you have dial-up and never actually test out your ethernet connection, or whatever it is they call these things these days).
I've also gone from rabbit-ears and 12 channels (half of them en espanol) on my one TV to 5000 cable channels in three rooms, two of them in HDTV, and the other "merely" digital.
I had a four-hour tutorial yesterday on how to use the 25 remotes, but I think I need some more practice. I may also have to give up law and go back to school for a degree in home electronics 101. Especially since law at Big Firm #2 also requires a high degree of technological expertise. I spent the first week just learning the 15 different document management programs the firm uses for word processing, document review, time keeping, email . . . at some point I'm sure I will get to actually practice law. At least I'm pretty sure about that.

Poetic license, baby. If I said it took five minutes, well, that wouldn't be funny now, would it.
